Life Sciences Scientists needed for Multidisciplinary Project at CDFD, Hyderabad.
The Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD) at Hyderabad is recruiting Life Science graduates for two Scientists positions available in a 5 years project on Multidisciplinary approaches aimed at interventions against Mycobacterium Tuberculosis.
Positions Available:
- Scientist – B (Code No.1) - Applicants should have a Ph.D. in any branch of Life Science; or M.Sc. in any branch of Life Sciences with three years’ research experience and with experience in basic molecular biology techniques. Experience in protein purification or cell signalling etc. and in bioinformatics softwares is desired. Upper age limit of 35 years apply.

ICMR Postdoctoral Research Fellowship
Postdoctoral Research Fellowships available at ICMR Institutes.
The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) offers Postdoctoral Research Fellowships for fresh PhD holders in areas of Basic Science, Communicable and Non-communicable Diseases, Reproductive Health including Nutrition. The fellowships will be allocated by Director General, ICMR, depending upon the needs of the Institutes/Centres in India. The fellowship pays Rs.35,000/- per month plus House Rent Allowance (HRA) as admissible and a contingency grant of Rs.3.0 lakhs per annum. 25% of the contingency grant can be used for travel including per diem expenses. The tenure is for 2 years and extendable for maximum of 1 year based on outstanding performance and recommendations by the Director / Officer-in-Charge of the concerned ICMR Institutes/Centres.
Who can Apply?
- ICMR Postdoctoral Research Fellowship is open to Indian nationals only.
- Fresh PhDs within one year of completing PhD and also those who have submitted PhD thesis.
- Maximum age limit of 32 years, relaxable upto 5 years in case of SC/ST/OBC/PH and women candidates, as on last date of application.

Postdoctoral Position – CIMMYT – Mexico
Postdoctoral Position Durum Wheat Breeding and Germplasm Enhancement at CIMMYT, Mexico.
The International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) is seeking motivated candidates for Postdoctoral position of Durum Wheat Breeding and Germplasm Enhancement. The position is available for 3 years and will be based at CIMMYT Headquarters, near Mexico City, Mexico.
Candidate will work as a member of “Durum Wheat Improvement” team, in CIMMYT’s Global Wheat Program, and contribute to collaborative research at CIMMYT and with other institutions, on durum wheat breeding and research emphasizing the widening of genetic variability for rust resistance in durum wheat global germplasm. The candidate will also conduct studies to characterize and start utilizing novel sources of resistance to rust both from the existing improved germplasm and genetic resources.
Who can Apply?
- Ph.D. in plant breeding, genetics or pathology of wheat or other cereals.
- Experience with field based experimentation.
- Experience with field and greenhouse-based rust work.
- Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English.
- Ability to form part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Ability to work under multicultural setting
Experience with molecular markers, genetic mapping in wheat or other cereals and knowledge of Spanish are considered advantageous.
