GATE 2010 Examination for Indian Institute of Technology.
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all-India examination administered and conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven Indian Institutes of Technology on behalf of the National Coordinating Board – GATE, Department of Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. Admission to postgraduate programmes with MHRD and some other government scholarship/assistantship at engineering colleges/institutes in the country are open to those who qualify through GATE. GATE qualified candidates are also eligible for the award of Junior Research Fellowship in CSIR Laboratories and CSIR sponsored projects.
Who can Apply?
- Bachelor degree holders in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture (4 years after 10+2) and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes.
- Master degree holders in any branch of Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes.
- Candidates in the second or higher year of the Four-year Integrated Master degree programme (Post-B.Sc.) in Engineering/ Technology or in the third or higher year of Five-year Integrated Master degree programme and Dual Degree programme in Engineering/ Technology.
- Candidates with qualifications obtained through examinations conducted by professional societies recognised by UPSC/AICTE (e.g. AMIE by IE(I), AMICE(I) by the Institute of Civil Engineers (India)-ICE(I)) as equivalent to B.E./B.Tech. Those who have completed section A or equivalent of such professional courses are also eligible.

International Postdoctoral Fellowships at MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge.
The MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology is a world famous institution with a strong track record in training postdoctoral fellows who have gone on to become leading scientists. Talented individuals wishing to work within any group of the LMB are invited to show their interest by approaching a Group Leader in the LMB. This initial part of the application process involves applicants being accepted by one of the LMB Group Leaders.
The LMB International Fellowship has been created for the development of innovative research, therefore the ideal candidate will be proposing to introduce a new project for the LMB, not the continuation of an existing project currently being developed within the LMB or elsewhere. Applications will not be considered without Group Leader support. Group Leader support can be sought during the application process, but a completed online application along with confirmation of support will only be accepted if received by the closing date below.
Successful applicants will be awarded a 3 year training and development fellowship, which is open to postdoctoral scientists who have recently completed their doctoral studies or are wishing to move into a new research area. Scientists of any nationality, who are exceptional, highly-motivated and independent are sought.

Postdoctoral Research Associate in Department of Plant Sciences at Algal Bioenergy Consortium.
Applications are now invited for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to study how electrons pass from the photosynthetic apparatus through the cell to the external environment. Successful candidate will combine practical, experimental flair with the ability to quantify and model results. Candidate will work in close collaboration with the other partners, so a high degree of flexibility and willingness to work in a team and across discipline boundaries is required. Tenure limit is up to 30 months, and subject to the satisfactory completion of a probationary period of six months. The post will be available from November 1st (Sunday), 2009.
Who can Apply?
- Ph.D. in Plant Sciences, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related discipline.
- Previous experience in Molecular Biology, as well as in culturing and transforming photosynthetic microorganisms is highly desirable, as is familiarity with electrochemistry, electrophysiology or bioenergetics.

In this role as Director of Bioinformatics (BI) and IT, reporting to the Executive Vice-President, R&D, selected candidate will lead Caprion’s informatics group.
