Designation: Research Associate – Legumes Pathology (Biotechnology)
ICRISAT invites applications from Indian nationals for the post of Research Associate to be based at Patancheru, Andhra Pradesh , India . This is a nationally recruited staff (NRS) position under a special project funded by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India.
About ICRISAT : ICRISAT is a non-profit, apolitical, international organization for science-based agricultural development. Established in 1972, it is an Alliance of centers of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), and supported by more than 48 governments, foundations, and development banks. To reduce poverty, enhance crop productivity and food security and to protect the environment, ICRISAT research focuses on farming systems and crop improvement, management and utilization of sorghum, pearl millet, pigeonpea, chickpea, and groundnut in the semi-arid tropics.
Responsibilities:
* Performing scientific services related to molecular, morphological, and pathogenic characterization of fungal pathogens of legumes, data analysis, marker genotyping.
* Carrying out tasks such as preparation of media, isolations and purification of target pathogens, maintenance of their pure and viable cultures, maintaining inventories and following norms of bio-safety.
* Provide help and support to various phenotyping activities in the glasshouse and field environment experiments. Read more
