ADVANTA is looking for a motivated scientist with a strong molecular plant breeding background to manage our growing molecular marker laboratory. This position is a key management position and will be involved in innovative strategic guidance for developing molecular technology, trait detection, and other genetic services and markets for agriculture. This laboratory of ADVANTA provides services and products to crop breeding that currently include molecular assisted breeding, molecular mapping and DNA Fingerprinting, trait analysis and cultivar purity.
Major responsibility includes:
· To coordinate and manage the daily operations, employees, budget, research & development and product servicing for the Molecular Laboratory of ADVANTA.
· Budget and resource management for Molecular Marker Laboratory.
· Coordinate proactive customer service and quality assurance ensuring that all activities in the Molecular Laboratory are in compliance with Company Quality Assurance goals and Health & Safety guidelines.
· Integrate these services into the company objectives and culture.

We are looking for an individual to provide an oversight on advanced & innovative technologies for newly establishing high throughput molecular marker laboratory. The position is located at Hyderabad.
Job Description: The successful candidate will work with an expanding group responsible for providing genotyping support for various traits and product development research programs. The person will conduct research in an appropriate area of applied genomics related to the overall strategy. The Senior Scientist (Molecular Markers) will plan and execute the experiments, provide technical inputs and ensure consistent throughput and quality standards are maintained across multiple activities. This person will also play a crucial role in designing and executing molecular marker/molecular breeding activities. Key components of the position will the ability to work with multiple trait and product development research groups to ensure effective and efficient utilization of genotyping resources and to interact with internal and external technology development programs to deploy new state of the art genotyping technologies.
Qualifications:
A Ph. D. in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Plant Biology, Biochemistry, or related scientific field, at least 8 years proven track record beyond the PhD, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to write scientific grant proposals are required. Read more
