Course Description
- Bioinformatics involves the use of computers to store, organize, retrieve and analyze biological information.
- The data for analysis is obtained from techniques like DNA/Protein sequencing, X-Ray Crystallography, Gene expression studies, etc. Analysis of such data includes identifying genes, detecting motifs of functional significance, predicting structure from sequence, studying evolutionary relationships etc.
- This will provide a clear picture about the relationships between organisms, disease processes etc., at the molecular level.
- Realizing the immense potential of bioinformatics in opening up new avenues of employment and the need for skilled and trained human resources,

Advance Diploma in Plant Biotechnology (ADPBT)
- Plant tissue culture is the in vitro technique of culturing a plant part viz. a protoplast, a cell, a tissue or an organ, in appropriate nutrient medium (static or liquid) aseptically.
- The science of plant tissue culture not only fulfills ones curiosity to understand plasticity and totipotency nature of plant cells, but being the most important part of plant biotechnology acts as a tool to produce millions of clonal plants in a small space within a short period of time and offers many diverse ways for plant improvement such as somaclonal variation, Agrobacterium mediated plant transformation etc.
