Research Scientist –II

Duration of Post: One year (extendable)

Salary: Rs. 20,700/ + HRA (for non-medical) and Rs. 25,875/ + HRA (for medical)

Essential Qulification:
1. MBBS Degree recognized by MCI or First class Master’s Degree in Life/Biological Sciences from a recognized University or equivalent.
2. Four years research experience.

Desirable:
1. Doctorate Degree in Life/Biological Sciences, or MD.
2. Knowledge of Computational Biology/Bioinformatics tools
3. Good writing and communication skills
4. Research experience related to polymorphisms/SNPs

Responsibilities:
ICMR has established nine Biomedical Informatics Centres at various locations across India with objectives (i) To nucleate awareness of Biomedical Informatics tools and techniques among medical professionals through various training programs and workshops, (ii) To develop
databases of specific clinical research data and Biomedical data and (iii) To initiate collaborative research projects. The centres have initiated many research projects, conducted many workshops, and have published several research papers.As second stage of this project ICMR is interested in initiating task-force projects related tomapping polymorphisms in disease-specific genes in Indian populations. The selected candidate will be involved in formulating the proposal and its implementation along with Scientists from the Biomedical Informatics Centre ICMR. In addition, the candidate will also help scientific staff

General Information:
• The appointment is terminable with one month notice from either side without assigning any reason. Since the project is purely temporary, the selected candidate will have no claim for regular appointment under ICMR or continuation of his/her services in any other project. No benefit of Provident Fund, CCA, Leave Travel Concession, Medical Claim etc. can be claimed.
• Date and time of personal interview to short-listed candidates will be intimated by email.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
