About the lab:

The overall goal of our laboratory is to understand the cellular and molecular basis of vertebrate embryonic induction, with special emphasis on germ layer and organ formation. Our primary focus is on the elucidation of mechanisms that pattern and establish competence within the endoderm in order to generate distinct organs, such as the pancreas and liver. Toward this aim we perform comparative studies using both amphibian and mammalian model systems, including mouse models and embryonic stem cells.
