The Role
A Molecular Biologist or Biotechnologist is required for this indefinite, full-time position in the Australian Animal Health Laboratory located in Geelong.

You will work as part of the Bio-Reagent Development Group (BRDG) to design, plan and conduct experiments leading to the development of innovative approaches to expression of proteins suitable as bio-reagents for diagnostic testing.

The BRDG is part of the Diagnostic, Surveillance and Response (DSR) Research Group where you will be responsible for application and development of diverse, modern and innovative protein expression systems in bacteria, yeast and cell culture for the generation of quality assured bio-reagents according to agreed prioritisation process.

To be successful you will have:

* PhD degree in Molecular Biology or Biotechnology.
* Experience in the area of recombinant protein expression in diverse biological systems.
* Record of achievement in the application of molecular biology and recombinant protein expression for development of bio-reagents.

The Research Division
The Diagnosis, Surveillance and Response Group delivers CSIRO’s national responsibilities in the area of emergency terrestrial animal and fish diseases, including diseases of wildlife and zoonotic diseases. This role will be based at the Australian Animal Health Laboratory (AAHL), which is part of CSIRO’s Division of Livestock Industries.
