Walk-in Interview for Project Assistant Position at National Institute of Oceanography, Goa.
National Institute of Oceanography at Goa needs a Project Assistant for collection, identification, maintenance of National Repository of Marine Species. Candidate will be required to participate in fieldwork for the collection of marine organisms from the coasts of India. Isolation and maintenance of microbial cultures. Preparation of crude extracts for biological screening, mass culture of microorganisms and bio-assay guided isolation of antimicrobial compounds. The candidate should assist the project leader in preparation of reports and should be able to work independently.
Who can Apply?
- M.Sc. in Applied Microbiology with 2 years research experience in marine microbiology.
- Experience in isolation and identification of marine microbes from sediments & marine organisms, phylogenic identification of micro organisms.
- Knowledge of chromatographic techniques. Working knowledge on computers is desirable. Knowledge of handling instruments such as PCR, gel electrophoresis, spectrophotometer, autoclave, centrifuge, etc.
- Upper age limit of 32 years.
