ADVANTA is involved in the discovery, development and delivery of elite crop genetics of various field and vegetable crops. We are looking for an individual to provide an oversight on advanced & innovative technologies for newly establishing high throughput molecular marker laboratory. The position is located at Hyderabad.
Job Description: The successful candidate will work with an expanding group responsible for providing genotyping support for various traits and product development research programs. The person will conduct research in an appropriate area of applied genomics related to the overall strategy. The Senior Scientist (Molecular Markers) will plan and execute the experiments, provide technical inputs and ensure consistent throughput and quality standards are maintained across multiple activities. This person will also play a crucial role in designing and executing molecular marker/molecular breeding activities. Key components of the position will the ability to work with multiple trait and product development research groups to ensure effective and efficient utilization of genotyping resources and to interact with internal and external technology development programs to deploy new state of the art genotyping technologies.
Qualifications:
A Ph. D. in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Plant Biology, Biochemistry, or related scientific field, at least 8 years proven track record beyond the PhD, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to write scientific grant proposals are required.
Experience with plant genetics, genomics and molecular breeding is must.
