Applications are invited for the following positions at Distributed Information Sub-Centre (DISC) established by Deptt. of Biotechnology, Govt. of India at Indian Institute of Advanced Research, Koba, Gandhinagar, Gujarat (www.iiar.res.in)
Technical Assistant (Rs. 5500-175-9000) one post
Qualifications and Experience: BE/Btech/MTech,MCA, Post-Graduate in biosciences, bioinformatics with at least 1 years of experience in working in a bioinformatics setup and good knowledge of linux operating system and computer networking.
General terms and conditions:
1. This is not an offer of appointment by Indian Institute of Advanced Research, Koba, Gandhinagar. It is a placement on behalf of the sponsor of the project-Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India. It would not therefore contain any right implicit or explicit for your consideration for regularization / absorption at IIAR even if the engagement is for more than 240 days a year.
2. Your engagement for this DBT sponsored project is for one year initially, which is the duration of the
project. However on satisfactory performance and extension of project grant your services can be extended beyond one year. These positions are co-terminus with this project.
3. You will not be allowed to discontinue without the prior approval of the Appropriate Authority in the
Institute. In case you wish to discontinue, you must submit a one month prior notice indicating specific reasons. You may be discontinued for the work by giving one month notice in case of unsatisfactory performance.
4. For positions (1) & (2) above age not more than 30 years as on 20.11.07 (relaxable for SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates as per Govt. of India guidelines).

Merely fulfilling the minimum prescribed qualifications and experience will not vest any right on a candidate being called for interview. Since it may not be possible to call all the candidates for interview the applications will be short listed for the purpose. The decision of IIAR will be final. The institute will not entertain any correspondence in this respect. Interim queries will not be attended to.
