Scientist ‘E’ Position open at National Institute of Immunohaematology, Mumbai.

The National Institute of Immunohaematology at Mumbai invites applications for filling Scientist ‘E’ Position in Haematology/ Immunohaematology. The said position is of senior scientific staff of the institute and the candidate will be required to lead independent research group and plan, conduct and supervise basic and applied research in the area of haematological disorders. The candidate is expected to have conducted good quality original research as evidenced by publications in indexed scientific journals; have scientific communication skills (verbal and written) as evidenced by presentations made and papers published at National and International level as first author, have a proven track record for securing research grant through competitive bidding at National and International level; demonstrate quest for excellence reflected by awards, prizes, fellowships etc. conferred by professional bodies; should have ability to lead a team and have had administrative experience at mid level management position.

National Institute of Immunohaematology (NIIH) is situated in KEM Hospital , Parel, Mumbai campus and is more than 50 years old and is administered by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) under Department of Health Research (DHR), Govt. of India.Presently the major areas of work are haemoglobinopathies, congenital bleeding disorders, DNA repair defects, hereditary and acquired immunodeficiency, development of novel antibodies through hybridoma work, molecular genetics of blood group antigens, rare blood groups, HLA and immunogenetics, Transfusion transmitted disorders are some of the areas on which the Institute has contributed immensely in the field of research.
