Postdoctoral Fellow Position open for Molecular Biology Research at University of Utah School of Medicine, Salt Lake City.
Applications are welcome to fill Postdoctoral Fellow Position for participating in Molecular Biology Research at Department of Medicine and Experimental Pathology, University of Utah School of Medicine, Salt Lake City. Selected candidate will be involved in one or more projects with the goal of understanding the role of novel genes and regulatory RNAs in the host response to hepatitis C or in the progression of inflammation to cancer in the liver and colon.
Who can Apply?
- Ph.D. or M.D. degree with extensive previous experience in molecular biology or molecular genetics research.
- Ability to work relatively independently on assigned projects with supervision of the P.I.
- Highly motivated with a strong desire for career development and a strong record of productivity.
- Good English communication skills are required.
- Basic molecular genetics/molecular biology, i.e., PCR, Northern, Western; isolating DNA and RNA, cloning, engineering and mapping of constructs; protein expression, and cell culture techniques. Other Skills – Word processing, basic genetic database searches, and use of sequence analysis tools. Prior experience with microarray and RNA sequencing is an advantage.
