Objectives
The objective of the training is to make participants aware how to subject a DNA or a poly-peptide sequence to sequence alignment, sequence databases, Sequence similarity searches and other Bioinformatics methods on computer

Course Contents of the Training Course
Bioinformatics overview, Biological Databases &information retrieval, Biological sequence analysis, Molecular Simulations, PCR primer designing, Genomics & Proteomics.

Faculty
Faculty for the Training Course will include eminent guest speakers from Gauhati University and neighbouring institutions working in the field of Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology and Structural Biology.

Methodology
Lectures, Demos and Hands on Session.

Level of participants
B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. students of Life Sciences.

Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of Computer and Molecular Biology.

Number of participants
Number of participants will be restricted to 15.

Accommodation
Participants are requested to arrange their own accommodation.

Location
The University Campus is 12 km away from the Guwahati Railway Station and 10km from Guwahati  Airport. Registration Fee: Rs. 600/- (includes course work material and lunches; may be paid in cash)
